Existing Conidtions and 2040 No Build Projection: After conducting traffic counts during Summer 2019, Kittelson and Associates found poor levels of service (LOS) at the intersations around Exit 21. LOS A-B indicates an average wait time of 20 seconds or less, LOS C-D indicates an average wait time of 20-55 seconds, and LOS E-F indicates an average wait time of 55-80+ seconds.
Improved Traffic Signals Option: This concept includes 4 traffic signals. There are currently 3 traffic signals. In this design, the traffic signal at CC street will be eliminated and replaced by a traffic signal at Millard ST. The intersections at Atlantic and Pacific would be upgraded with additional lanes. A new traffic signal would be added at Buckeye/Goerig/Lakeshore. There is also a direct connection from the Northbound offramp to CC ST.
Roundabout Option: This concept includes a series of three roundabouts. There is also a direct connection from the Northbound offramp to CC ST.
